Infosys today appointed impartial director Ravi Venkatesan co-chairman amid calls from founders to diversify the board.
The board growth comes towards the backdrop of an ongoing tussle among the founders and the management over contentious issues including CEO revenue hike, severance bundle to former personnel and corporate governance requirements.
“Ravi will assist me enhance the board engagement in supporting the management in execution of the business enterprise’s approach,” R Seshasayee, Infosys chairman, stated in a declaration.
Venkatesan, who has been at the Infosys board since April 2011, has made “valuable contribution to the development of strategic route of the corporation for the duration of his tenure”, the organisation said.
“This is an interesting time for the era enterprise and I am thrilled to have the possibility to work extra closely with Sesh (Seshasayee), Vishal and his management team of their transformational journey,” Venkatesan said.
